Update on Sophie
Not much of one, actually. We went to Fort Worth today for her EEG. It was quite miserable for the poor girl, who was completely exhausted and had to have about 30 probes attached to her head. Even though she sobbed and cried the whole time, she never once fought me. She let me hold her hands and cried, but didn't struggle to get free at all.
The EEG took about an hour, and we'll have results in 3-5 days. I will call them if I don't hear before then, and will update you all.
Also, a few more prayers for Erich please: he's dealing with a few disgruntled classmates who feel that he should be kicked out because he's not running fast enough to suit them, despite the fact that he A) is obviously trying and B) has shown marked improvement since the start of the class. My personal feeling is that they don't like that he's number one academically, and this is sour grapes. Many of his fellow recruits have expressed that opinion as well, but you know how it is - one negative comment can often outweigh a multitude of positive ones. So please pray that he will keep his spirits up and not let them get to him.
The other thing is, this week they are covering child abuse. This is an area that really hits Erich hard, and they will be viewing videos and photos of abuse victims, which means he's going to be really hurting. Please pray for strength for him and that he will remember that this very thing is part of why he became a police officer in the first place - to STOP these horrible things from happening.
Thank you all.
On a somewhat lighter note - Zoe had a wonderful birthday celebration! She got a book from her grandmother on her actual birthday and Gabby and I sang Happy Birthday to her (I made her a chocolate cake and they each got to have a piece). The party was last Saturday, so that her daddy could attend. It was a lot of fun, even battling the wasps that clearly believe that my parents' new house actually belongs to THEM, not to my parents.
While we were there, Sophie discovered the stairs and nothing could hold her back. She managed to climb the entire spiral staircase up to the second floor, completely on her own. (With protective Daddy hovering right behind her, of course.) Obviously, she inherited the monkey gene from her big sister Zoe!
Blogger's not cooperating, so pictures will come later.
