Either or?

Zoe was running around like a wild thing this evening and I was trying to pin her down long enough to find out what she wanted for the rest of her dinner, having already eaten the main part of it. I was being lenient and letting her sit in the "big girl chair" at the table, instead of using her highchair, and as a result, she was very distracted. Finally, I said, "Zoe! Do you want a yogurt or string cheese?" She replied absently, "I want a yogurt or."

An ear for music

Gabby often takes a nap in my bedroom - when she does, I'll sometimes turn on some music for her. It's usually kids singing Christian songs, or a quiet, soothing jazz cd - that's the one she really likes and requests every time. It's a cd by Norah Jones.
Today she was watching Sesame Street and Norah Jones was a guest on this episode. She started singing a song that Gabby had never heard, and she's certainly never seen what Norah Jones looks like, but as soon as Gabby heard the song, she got excited and said, "That sounds like the girl on the cd in your bedroom!"
So based solely on the sound of her voice, Gabby recognized who it was. Pretty impressive for a 4 year old!
