Seeing from a 4 year old's point of view

Erich was watching Sherlock Holmes, and Gabby was flitting around the room, watching occasionally but mostly intent on doing her own thing. She heard hoofbeats, so of course she looked, and saw a horse and carriage on the screen.
"Is that a pirate horse?" she asked.
A do-what-now?
"A pirate horse! Is that why he's wearing eye patches like that?"

Endless source of entertainment

Who says cats are good for nothing? They're certainly good for the occasional laugh!

"I'm a dancer!"

I look at this bright creature standing in front of me, fizzing with life, brimfull of possibilities, her quick mind careening from topic to topic seemingly without pause, and I feel my heart expand and my eyes fill with tears of love and joy.
"I love you," I say, and she smiles and says, "I love you too. I'm dancing for you!"

I am truly blessed beyond measure. The richest man on earth is poor in comparison to my wealth.

Note to self: Never leave child alone...

In her bedroom with chocolate peanut butter. The results are...interesting. (And the ensuing bath was not at all pleasant.)

Have you ever been separated?

The trooper in my living room asked me. I glanced over at Erich, sitting in the chair next to me and said, "Only by about four feet."

Picture intensive

Since it's been over a month since I've posted anything, I'll just start right off by posting lots and lots of pictures. That seems to be what most people are clamoring for, anyway. ;o)

This is a kid who makes herself comfortable wherever she goes.

The swing is fun even when you're not sitting in it!

I'm a BIG girl! I'm finally up on my hands and knees!

Speed bump!

The battle for Deet's allegiance has begun! Who will he choose?
