Pictures!

Grandpa Neumann sent Gabby an adorable little two-piece summer dress, in shades of brown with dangly little seashells hanging from both the blouse and skirt. The girls both love it, as you can see!

Attack of the puppies!

Our next-door neighbors (the other side of this duplex) have three little terrier/dachsund puppies that have decided that they like our patio better than theirs, and any time we step out the back door, we're swarmed by little black and brindle bodies. Thankfully, they're very sweet, so it's not too obnoxious, although the poop all over the patio gets a little annoying...
At any rate, Gabby went outside today, and a few minutes later I heard her calling me desperately. "I need to get rescued! I need to get rescued by puppies!" I looked up to see her pinned halfway through the screen door, sprawled on the ground and swamped by little wriggling bodies. I said, "Do you mean rescued from puppies?" as I burst out laughing at the sight. She said, "Yes! Yes! Rescued from puppies! HEEEELLLP!"
There ensued a five minute battle where we did a round robin of puppies in and out of the house. It didn't help that we were both laughing so hard we kept dropping them.
Life is never boring around here!

When you have children...

You learn that your words WILL come back to haunt you. So you'd better hope they're good words and not bad or embarrassing!
In the process of teaching Zoe to count, I always encourage her with "good girl!" or "good job!" when she numbers something correctly.
Yesterday I was reading to the girls out of a counting book. At the end, Gabby asked me to count the various things, so I started pointing to the pictures and saying, "1, 2, 3, 4" etc. After every number, Zoe crooned, "Good job, Mama!"

Sorry

I'm really bad about updating this, I know!
So, where are we now...well, Erich applied for state trooper, and GOT IT! :o) He still has to pass a few more tests before he's actually employed by them - he leaves on Wednesday for Austin and will be there until Saturday. He has to pass a physical test, psych evaluation, polygraph and an eye exam. If he passes all those, then he will start academy on the 30th of this month. So prayers, please, that all goes well and his back stays healthy!

The twins are sick at the moment and not terribly happy, but still very sweet even though they're miserable.

(He's wearing his big sister's shirt, which is why he has such a plunging neckline. ;o)
